Wald im Pinzgau

Wald im Pinzgau is part of the Zillertal Arena, but is also close to the Wildkogel-Arena. The village has no direct lift or piste connection with either area, but the free ski bus can easily shuttle you back and forth. You can therefore easily ski in both areas during your winter holiday in Wald. Wald im Pinzgau is often mentioned in the same breath as Königsleiten, since both villages form one municipality.

Wald is situated at an altitude of 900 metres, at the gates of the Hohe Tauern National Park. From here, you have a magnificent view of the mountains of the Hohe Tauern, the Pinzgau and the Zillertal Alps. In contrast to the surrounding villages, Wald im Pinzgau is still a quiet place. Here, the après-ski has not yet penetrated and the buildings mainly consist of attractive houses and chalets. One of the highlights in the village is the modern Kristallbad. Here you can completely relax after a long day on the slopes. Go into the sauna or take a dip in the water. Even if you don’t ski or snowboard, Wald im Pinzgau is a great place to be. In the surrounding area, you can go on lovely winter walks, but also cross-country skiing.
